Simple explanation of Scrum definitions

What is Scrum ?

Scrum is a popular framework predominantly used in Software Product Development industry. If you want to join a Scrum team, you should be aware of certain things. The definition of scrum, different players in a Scrum team, their roles, events (ceremonies), protocol to be followed with team members, and the relationship between team members.

Scrum was developed by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland. Thanks to them for the Scrum Guide (please refer below Reference section).

Philosophy

The theory that all knowledge is based on experience derived from the senses.

What is Scrum Team ?

Scrum represents a Team of max 10 members. This team includes

  1. Product Owner (one)
  2. Developers (max 8 people)
  3. Scrum Master (one)

Scrum Team works for Program Increment (PI: ten weeks cycle).

PI is Further divided into Sprints ( 4 + 1 = 5 Sprints).

Scrum Team works Sprint-by-Sprint (two weeks cycle)

Step 1. Product Owner order works; put it in a basked called “Product backlog”.

Step 2. Developers pick items from the backlog; complete the work; deliver to Product Owner;

Step 3. The entire team inspect the results of the work; and discuss about the improvements todo in the next cycles (Sprints). Go To Step 1.
